AHEAD (Ireland) ALTITUDE Conference

We were delighted to present at ALTITUDE. Dr Bairbre Fleming & Dr Claire Mullen presented on democratising data on the underrepresented student experience in UCD. Dr Lisa Padden, Kathie Orr & Daniel Elliott led a workshop on a UDL impact measurement framework. And University for All Student Partners Blessed Rita Fonkoh, Eleanor O' Kelly, Kevin Landers, Sofia Mashkantseva, Matthew Collins Kearns, Amaliia Shmyhovska & Vaishnavi Kannan presented on module accessibility and inclusive student events.

Incluza Palooza 2026

9th-12th February 2026 was Incluza Palooza - UCD's annual festival to celebrate inclusivity on campus. UCD University for All Student Partners organised pop-ups and events to meet students, gather feedback on their views on inclusive spaces in UCD, introduce them to Universal Design, and importantly give out freebies. Thanks to our collaborators: UCD Draw Soc, UCD Innovation Academy, UCD Women in STEM Society, UCD ND Collective, UCD Math Soc and UCD Bio Soc.

Sensory Spaces Pilot across Campus

We are delighted to have been involved in the piloting of a number of sensory spaces across campus, including a pop up space within UCD Access and Lifelong Learning Centre and other schools.
These sensory spaces offer designed features such as soft lighting, calming and gentle music, and soothing visual videos and pictures enabling students to take time out, relax, and enjoy a moment of calm in a safe and supportive environment. Students can check within their schools for their sensory spaces.

Universal Design Masterclass in Glasgow

UCD Access & Lifelong Learning travelled to City of Glasgow College to deliver a half day masterclass in Universal Design and the University for All framework. The masterclass was very well attended by faculty of the Creative Industries disciplines and by support and professional staff from across the College. Dr Bairbre Fleming, Dr Lisa Padden and Daniel Elliott co-facilitated the session. A reciprocal visit to UCD by staff and faculty in the College will be planned in the coming months.
Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) 16Jan
DARE Information Webinar

Are you making a CAO application? Do you know about DARE?
DARE is a third level alternative admissions scheme for school-leavers whose disabilities have had a negative impact on their second level education. Come to our online information session on Friday 16th January at 11am. This webinar will provide you with an opportunity to find out more about eligibility for DARE and get practical information about the application process. Select the arrow for the registration.

Making a CAO application to Higher Education? Do you know about HEAR?
HEAR is a higher education admissions scheme for Leaving Certificate students (under 23) whose economic or social background are underrepresented in higher education.
